Apple seems to be looking for a way for the iPhone to detect autism in children.According to the report by The Wall Street Journal, The company is researching how to use the iPhone camera for early diagnosis of the condition. The report is based on documents with people familiar with the study, stating that “Apple has a third brain-related research partnership with Duke University that has not yet been disclosed.” Aims to create an algorithm to detect childhood autism, he added.
It has been suggested that this technique will be able to track a child’s face and observe various behaviors of the child’s face to detect early stages of the condition.
According to the report, the study aims to use the iPhone’s camera to observe how the toddler is focused. This includes measurements such as how often it sways back and forth.
It has been suggested that this technique will be able to track a child’s face and observe various behaviors of the child’s face to detect early stages of the condition. This may include tracking the frequency with which the child looks away and other such behaviors.
The report also states that research advances Apple’s previous efforts to introduce features.
In a similar effort, American biotechnology company Biogen has previously announced that it will work with Apple. This was to come up with a way to use the iPhone and Apple Watch to detect potential signs of depression and cognitive decline in the user.
However, it has also been suggested that these efforts that may allow Apple products to detect illness may not be available as a user-end feature. That said, research is in its infancy, and Apple may be able to reach that potential.
Recall that Apple was previously expected to introduce the ability to track blood pressure and record alcohol and even sugar levels via the Apple Watch. It was planned to be introduced in Watch Series 7, but these features may be released in future Apple Watch.
