The Buffalo-based law firm of Lippes Mathias LLP, stepping up to address clients’ changing needs in the pandemic, is unusual in that it has grown during the past year and half. Employment and regulatory areas, for example, were expanded as business owners needed legal advice to navigate COVID-19-era rules.
Managing partner Kevin Cross said the momentum was due in part because there was no interruption in client services. While other businesses were shutting down, the firm’s lawyers and support staff embraced the technology that allowed them to connect immediately with clients during the year’s shutdowns.
The firm also had growth in areas not affected by the pandemic, including environmental, insurance, and health care, and Cross expects that expansion to continue and the addition of an eighth office location. Here, Cross explains the firm’s success.
