St. Petersburg Maritime Defense technology hub moving to waterfront property – FOX 13 Tampa Bay

Dan Matics reports
Another technology hub is coming to St. Pete’s innovation district.
A vacant building on the city’s waterfront, next to the U.S. Coast Guard station, is about to become the St. Petersburg Maritime Defense Tech Hub.
Inside, several businesses from the defense sector will collaborate together.
Alison Barlow, director of St. Pete’s innovation district, says this is another example of more tech jobs coming to the city.
ARK Invest puts money into a portfolio of businesses know as disruptive innovation – start-ups in energy storage, blockchain technology, robotics, and DNA sequencing – and now the company will call downtown St. Pete home.

"It touches the Department of Defense. It touches NOAA, it touches the Department of Homeland Security and the Coast Guard," Barlow told FOX 13 Monday.
St. Petersburg’s Maritime Defense Technology Hub will be up and running by January.
