Safe Berks receives $2,500 donation – Reading Eagle

Safe Berks has received a $2,500 donation from Kinetic.
Safe Berks was nominated for the award by the Berks County Commissioners.
“Everyone at Safe Berks is so grateful for this generous technology grant from Kinetic,” said Beth Garrigan, Safe Berks CEO. “This greatly needed grant will be utilized to help cover the costs of technology and security at our new administrative location at 147 N. Fifth St. in Reading. Thanks to Kinetic for helping Safe Berks continue to provide the best possible services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We know our services are more important than ever, and that our services save lives.”
Safe Berks provides free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services are available in English and Spanish, and translation will be used for any other language needed. Services include shelter, counseling, legal services, medical advocacy and education.  The Safe Berks 24-hour hotline is 844-789-SAFE (7233) or text SAFE BERKS to 20121.
“Kinetic is proud to continue investing in the communities where we serve,” said Jeanne Shearer, vice president of state government affairs in Pennsylvania for Kinetic. “This grant to Safe Berks is timely, as October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We’re thankful for all Safe Berks does, and we’re thrilled to be a small part of helping them continue to reach those in need.”
