ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos fullback/tight end Andrew Beck has been selected as the team’s nominee for the 2021 Salute to Service Award presented by USAA, it was announced.
It is the second consecutive year that Beck received this honor on behalf of the team.
Beck has shown a commitment to supporting military service members and their families throughout his three seasons in Denver. He has partnered with America’s Gold Star Families, Buckley Air Force Base, Fort Carson Army Base, TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors), USO Colorado, VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System, Volunteers of America: Colorado and Wounded Warrior Project. In total, he’s reached more than 400 military families through his strategic outreach.
This year for My Cause My Cleats, Beck will support Freedom Service Dogs’ Operation Freedom program, which helps veterans and active-duty military find a new level of confidence and independence with the help of specially trained service dogs.
During this past offseason, Beck participated in a virtual visit with Buckley Air Force Base and USO Colorado to celebrate WingMan Week, a program dedicated to strengthening connection, relaxation, and the rejuvenation of the fighting spirit.
Having grown up in a military family, Beck’s father, Chris, is a former colonel in the U.S. Army. This spring, he took the initiative to partner with USO Colorado to host a military appreciation barbecue for military families at Fort Carson — the same base where his family once was stationed.
In 2020, Beck was slated to be a featured player on the annual NFL USO Tour, before it was cancelled due to COVID-19. However, Beck refused to let the pandemic impact his commitment to support the military. Last November, he assembled Salute to Service care packages for military bases across Colorado and helped host a virtual visit with veterans served by Wounded Warrior Project.
The Salute to Service Award is part of the NFL and USAA’s year-round commitment to recognize and honor the military community. Each year, the NFL and its 32 teams come together to honor, empower and connect with members of the military as part of the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative.

Dawson, a second-round pick in 2018 by the Patriots, has appeared in 26 games for the Broncos since the team traded for him ahead of the 2019 season.
The Centaurus High School Physics Club was selected to be honored after winning a STEM competition in 2020.
“I’m extremely frustrated and saddened that this is the end of the season for me,” Glasgow tweeted Monday.
Broncos players took to social media after a win over the Cowboys to celebrate and show their appreciation for Broncos Country.
“Just to see a complete team win like that, it just gets you excited,” wide receiver Tim Patrick said.
“We talked about it in the huddle, and we used it as motivation,” quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said.
By day’s end, the Broncos racked up 190 yards on the ground — their best total of the season, and the Cowboys defense’s worst.
The Broncos went into Dallas and earned their best win of the season as they knocked off the previously 6-1 Cowboys.
The Broncos relied upon their depth along the offensive line with Garett Bolles, Bobby Massie and Graham Glasgow out.
Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, guard Graham Glasgow and safety Caden Sterns were listed as questionable but will play in Sunday’s game.
