The all-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be officially introduced at 12:15 p.m. IST, with the unveiling ceremony to follow.
The launch of the new Celerio was delayed owing to semiconductor shortages and the impact they had on vehicle manufacturing, but Maruti Suzuki has now stated that bookings for the second generation are open, with a booking amount of Rs 11,000 required.
The new Celerio is expected to be built on the company’s lightweight Heartect platform, which also underpins several Maruti Suzuki vehicles (such as the Dzire, Swift, Baleno, and others), and will likely be somewhat larger than its predecessor.
The added interior space and a completely redesigned dashboard with a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system are all possible.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder Dual Jet petrol engine with Dual VVT and around 70 horsepower, according to the company.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Celerio will be India’s most fuel-efficient petrol vehicle thanks to an anticipated ARAI fuel efficiency rating of 26 km/l. The standard equipment for this model includes a five-speed manual gearbox (AGS).
According to latest reports, the 2021 Celerio will have sweptback headlights and a smaller mesh grille bisected by a strip that joins the headlights.
The minimalist front bumper has a small central air intake flanked by circular fog lights, and from the side, there are no prominent design flourishes on the 2021 Celerio, which lacks the strong character line of its predecessor that starts at the front fender and extends back to the tail-lights.
Also noteworthy is that instead of pull-type door handles, it will feature flap-type handles this year.
