Dupont partners with The Arc of Midland to build new workspace – Midland Daily News

Dupont recently partnered with The Arc of Midland and helped them achieve their vision of building an exciting, bright and functional workspace in their current office.
The Arc of Midland is a nonprofit with an office nestled into a neighborhood near Greater Midland Community Center, a location that aligns perfectly with their mission: promoting the general welfare of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; increasing their presence, participation and inclusion in the community.
DuPont and The Arc share similar values when it comes to caring for the health and safety of the community and fostering an environment where people can contribute, innovate, and excel.
Most recently, with the foresight of Kayley Gordert, DuPont community relations leader, DuPont partnered with The Arc of Midland and helped them achieve their vision of building an exciting, bright and functional workspace in their current office.
“It is hard not to want to partner and get involved with The Arc of Midland, when you meet their amazing staff! You can truly feel the passion and commitment that each of them have for the work they are doing daily,” stated Gordert.
“We just never imagined such an incredible work area,” said Laurel Bucci, The Arc of Midland executive director. This new space provides The Arc with a safe, clean and functional space that didn’t exist before.
The two organizations also have a shared vision of eliminating food insecurity within the community. The Arc has a small outdoor food pantry called The Read and Feed  in which community members can come grab nonperishable items along with books and toiletries.
“It makes my heart happy knowing that our Read and Feed is being utilized. People know and trust that we’re a resource for them when they’re in need,” said Wendy Cook, The Arc’s first impression specialist. Cook is in charge of re-stocking the pantry.
Now that DuPont has contributed a new stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink and electrical, The Arc can store and supply perishable items to the community.
But that isn’t all this exciting new partnership will bring.
The two organizations plan to collaborate again soon. DuPont will be providing The Arc with a larger, more robust outdoor food pantry to continue working towards their shared vision.
Along with DuPont, The Arc partnered with Home Depot, Valley Electric and Three Rivers Construction to assist with the plumbing and fabrication; bringing this new workspace to life.
