BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
FOLDABLE CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL
Chinese researchers have developed a conductive carbon material that can withstand one million folds without structure damage.
Inspired by silkworm cocooning processes, the researchers from Tongji University designed the super-foldable conductive carbon material with layered nanofiber network structures, according to a recent research article published in the journal Matter.
The material can remarkably bear one million folds without structural damage and conductivity fluctuations.
EMISSION REDUCTION
China’s civil aviation industry has achieved significant progress in energy-saving and emission reduction work, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
As of the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the fuel efficiency of China’s civil aviation industry had increased around 30 percent compared with that in 2000, resulting in the reduction of 360 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, showed data from the CAAC.
During the same period, 16 percent of airport vehicles were powered by new energy, and the annual power generation of photovoltaic projects in airports nationwide exceeded 20 million kWh.
PATENT APPLICATION
China will further strengthen its crackdown on abnormal patent agent activities, according to the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA).
The Chinese IPR authorities will penalize those agents involved in large quantities of abnormal patent applications or patent fabrication activities, either revoking their practice licenses or preventing them from taking on new business, said the NIPA on a new notice.
The NIPA will strengthen big-data screening and monitoring, and will lock down unqualified agents engaged in abnormal patent applications, said the notice.
