Upcoming human-services, airport and East Valley job fairs could spread holiday cheer – The Arizona Republic

The holidays are quickly coming up. For Arizonans seeking employment, a new job could be the gift that keeps on giving.
Dozens of large employers are hoping to hire staff at job fairs and other hiring events in the coming weeks. Here are some prominent announcements:
A range of full- and part-time jobs will be available at a hiring event Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Human Services Campus at 1214 W. Madison St. near downtown Phoenix.
Six partner agencies on the 13-acre campus, which provides services for homeless people, will participate.  Appointments are not required.
“The positions are very diverse, from administrative jobs to crisis-intervention specialists, both client-facing and behind the scenes at the campus,” said Brent Downs, executive director at St. Joseph the Worker, which is hosting the event.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is hosting a job fair for employers operating at the airport. The Nov. 16 event will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will be held at the Phoenix Sky Train Station at 44th and Washington streets. Face coverings are required.
The job fair will feature hundreds of available positions including cooks, baristas, cashiers, dishwashers, drivers, sales associates, customer service reps, receptionists and managers. Benefits vary but might include insurance and retirement plans, paid time off, discounts, parking passes and various bonuses.
Employers scheduled to participate include Ace Parking Services, Allied Universal Security, the Arizona Lottery, Bio Janitorial Services, Cam Concessions, Casa Unlimited, Covenant Aviation Security, Freedom Park Valet Services, Flagship Facility Services, Hertz, HMS Host, InMotion Entertainment, IPSA Security Services, Kind Hospitality, MAG USA’s Escape Lounge, Paradies Lagardere, SSP America and Stellar.

Thousands of local jobs will be up for grabs Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Valley Job Fair. The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Mesa hotel, 1011 W. Holmes Ave. in Mesa.

Abrazo Health is conducting walk-in interviews every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Dec. 22 at hospitals around the Phoenix metro area. No appointments are needed.
Abrazo is interviewing nurses, surgical techs, transporters and patient-care associates. In addition, there are available positions in imaging, labs, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, rehab services and housekeeping. The company has roughly 400 current openings.
The Wednesday hiring events are being held for Abrazo Arrowhead Campus/Surprise Hospital, Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, Abrazo Central Campus/Mesa Hospital, Abrazo Scottsdale Campus/Cave Creek Hospital and Abrazo West Campus.

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service plans to fill up to 100 positions in the Phoenix metro area, and 25,000 nationally, in preparation for the upcoming tax-return filing season. The company will hold hiring events the week of Dec. 6.
