Georgia receiver George Pickens made his 2021 debut on Saturday at Georgia Tech, eight months after he suffered a torn ACL in March. Pickens entered the field on the Bulldogs' third play of the game.

A preseason All-SEC pick, Pickens was Georgia's leading receiver in 2019 and caught 36 passes for 513 yards and six touchdowns a year ago. The team didn't confirm Pickens was cleared to play during the week; as of Tuesday night, head coach Kirby Smart said Pickens had yet to be cleared but that left time for it to happen between then and Saturday.

Smart did say that Pickens was taking snaps with the second and third teams during practice in an effort to “integrate” himself in the event he was cleared. That was an indication Pickens was close and moving in the direction of playing.
