VFW Post 7591 takes service to another level with annual Toys for Tots Drive – WKOW

MADISON (WKOW) — Servicemen and women from VFW Post 7591 are going above and beyond to ensure every child has a chance to open a gift this Christmas.
The group held their annual Toys for Tots drive Sunday.
Michael Cucinotta, an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps, said he has been amazed by the generosity this year.
“The way Toys for Tots is going this year, we’ve been able to reach further and deeper into surrounding counties than ever before,” Cucinotta said.
Last year, the event was transformed into a drive-thru because of the pandemic, but this year, VFW Post 7591 co-chair John Looze explained that it returned with both an in-person and a drive-thru option.
“We’re happy to be doing another event for Toys for Tots. We do offer the drive-thru drop off this year along with our in-house party,” Looze said
The event included live music from six bands who donated their time for the cause. It also included numerous prizes that were raffled off to purchase more toys.
“People come here with the thought of giving and they all give as much as they can,” Kristi Barbian, co-chair of VFW Post 7591 said.
In total, the group collected over 12 bins of toys. That was in addition to numerous bikes and scooters.
