University and Student Support Services during Winter Break: December 24, 2021 – January 17, 2022.

The Montclair State campus will close at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2021, and re-open on Monday, January 3, 2022. Academic and administrative offices will be closed during this period. Specific information regarding services during the winter campus closing can be found below.
To maintain the security of the main campus during the winter closing, employees may have access to their offices only in the unusual circumstance that their supervisors require them to perform a specific job duty during that period or, in the case of faculty members, to pursue ongoing research or other faculty responsibilities. The employee or a dean must inform University Police via [email protected] as soon as the need to be on campus is known, specifying the purpose, date(s) and time(s) that access is required. Upon arrival and departure, the employee must sign in and out at the University Police building.
Please submit any and all names of students who are engaged in research that requires their presence during the winter closing, in advance, to University Police via [email protected]. The submission must indicate that no safety hazards are posed by the student’s presence in the laboratory and/or office. Upon arrival and departure, the student must sign in and out at the University Police building and have their Montclair State University Student ID card. Students may also have access to buildings if they are accompanied by a faculty member or administrator who has followed the procedures described above. Anyone not authorized to be in a building during this period will be escorted from the building. All employees and students must have a key and/or access code to gain entry to the specific room requested. University Police will be responsible for opening the exterior door of the building as needed.
The Center for Academic Success & Tutoring (CAST) will be offering in-person and virtual tutoring appointments through Monday, December 20.
Winter tutoring will be available in person starting Monday, January 3, 2022, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Winter tutoring appointments can be reserved starting Wednesday, December 22. If you would like to request a class, please complete the Tutoring Course Request Form and we will do our best to find an available tutor.
You can book appointments for this weekend and the remainder of the semester using Navigate and selecting “Academic Support.”
The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) will be closed Friday, December 24, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022. The office will return to their regular schedule on Monday, January 3, 2022.
The Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) will have in-person and online appointments available through Thursday, December 23, 2021. The CWE will be closed Friday, December 24, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022.
The CWE will return to their regular hours on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be closed starting Friday, December 24, 2021, returning to regular schedule on Monday, January 3, 2022). During this time, our on-call service will be available. To speak with a licensed mental health clinician during this time (and any time CAPS is closed) please call the CAPS front desk at 973-655-5211 and select option 2.

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) will be closed Friday December 24, 2021, through Sunday, January 2, 2022.
The DRC will return to their regular hours on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
The Montclair State University Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is operated solely by volunteer students of the University. EMS students will be on break from Thursday, December 23, 2021, returning to normal operations on or before Monday, January 17, 2022. EMS coverage will be provided 24 hours a day by Mutual Aid services from surrounding jurisdictions when EMS is unavailable.
The Drop In Center will be closed Friday, December 24, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The Office for Social Justice and Diversity will be closed Friday, December 24, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022. The office will return to their regular schedule on Monday, January 3, 2022.
Weekend parking regulations will be in effect beginning 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, through Sunday, January 2, 2022, for commuter and resident students with permits issued by Montclair State University. Please Note: Lot 19 is excluded from weekend regulations. Please review the parking regulations page for detailed information.
